Huge Opportunity

It seems as though St. Clair truly has a chance for an economic opportunity. If you haven’t heard about this or read about yet, LG Chem is considering St. Clair as the new site for their battery plant. The plant will be producing the batteries that will provide power for the new Chevy Volt.

This would be terrific for St. Clair’s job market as well as housing market. Those of you that have been considering selling, this may be the time to put your home on the market. Traditionally, when new job providing companies open, there is a natural influx of new people to the area. This means that there is the potential for a whole of buyers coming to St. Clair and the surrounding areas.

If you have any questions about selling your home and/or getting it ready to sell, feel free to contact me for an appointment. You can also take a look at homes for sale in the St. Clair area at suzi.mihomesnow.com

Sellers – Make your home stand out!

A few inexpensive ideas to give your home the curb appeal that will attract potential buyers:

  • Clean up beds by weeding and pruning shrubs. Add mulch for a high-end look.
  • Invest in pots. A couple of attractive ceramic (or ceramic look-alike) pots filled with attractive plants can really make an entrance look classier.
  • Install landscape lighting on the path to the front door.
  • Replace the mailbox with a newer one and put some nice plantings at its base to dress it up.

At the Bottom?

Out of all of the articles and news reports that I have read the attached one seems to be the most realistic. Stating that yes, we have probably hit the bottom of and seen the worst of the real estate market. However, there are still some issues that affect the market that have not been resolved as of yet.

If you're waiting for prices to drop even more – DON’T!

Fear of overpaying for property is common these days. Below are a few reasons why waiting might not be such a good idea:

  • Waiting for the right time can be expensive. Some buyers would have more equity today, despite falling prices, if they had bought when they were first considering it, instead of continuing to pay rent.
  • Financing is fickle. Some people who were highly qualified last year can’t find financing this year because the credit market has tightened on their personal financial situation. This now makes them an undesirable borrower.
